THE Alpen-Marathon “7 | 6 | 50” - FROM THE FIRST TOUR TO THE TV REPORTS

THE ALPS FROM EAST TO WEST - ADVENTURE AND DISCOVERY TOURS IN THE CENTRE OF EUROPE!

What the Alpen-Marathon is:
We love the Alpine passes and the roads and paths through the Alps. Every Alpine country is different, every region is different, and every single Alpine pass is different and interesting and unique in its own way. The uniqueness of course comes from the age of the mountains, the rock, the formation, but above all from the people who live there, their customs and their culture in all its facets - in the way they live, live, work, eat and enjoy, in the way they are. And we want to capture this - in text, language, images and film. And to inspire and inform others.

It all started with the idea of gaining an overview, understanding and experiencing the diversity and fascination of the Alps. The result was our first adventure. As our free time is limited, we came up with the idea of travelling from the east to the west in a week.

7 days | 6 countries | 50 passes:
In order to have a plan, the idea became a motto: We travelled through 6 Alpine countries over 50 Alpine passes in 7 days - on a motorbike.

We recorded this tour for ourselves on film. Overwhelmed by the impressions, the constantly changing landscapes, routes and cultures, we want more - and want to share it. The additional term ’Alpen-Marathon’ was born. Simply because the attitude to life is more than just 7 days and because a better term had to be found for the web address - even if we are not the only ones, as we have to realise.

Today, many years after the first Alpine Passes Tour.
2017 was the first Alpine Passes Tour under the motto “7 days | countries | 50 passes”. A lot has happened since then. And ... we have many more plans.
The Alpen-Marathon as TV reports:
We were asked whether we would be interested in packaging our experiences and knowledge into 30-minute TV formats. It was a good idea, but only with contributions from the regions that we visit, presenting the country, its people and places of interest. With the support of the tourism authorities and local guides, we set out to explore various regions in the Alps and have been producing ever since – with great enthusiasm for everything we have been able to experience. In the meantime, 12 programmes have been created.

Among other things, there is also the ‘original’ Alpen-Marathon, a tour from Villach to Monte Carlo, in three parts. All episodes are available to stream at motovision.tv and here at motomovie.

In addition to the TV reports, we have created many short Alpine passes video clips, and enriched them with facts, information and pictures – as an Alpine passes overview from A to Z. And also suitable sights, and hotels...
This resulted in an interactive Alpine Passes Map, or as we call it, an interactive, digital Alpine Passes Atlas. And a unique Alpine Passes Poster and...

What the Alpen-Marathon is not:
It’s about experiencing the Alps and getting to know new sides again and again - in other words, we want to ’see’ the Alps. That’s why we’re not interested in speed, nor in achieving as much as possible per day. Even on the entire tour ’50 Alpine passes through 6 countries in 7 days’ there is enough time for ’seeing’.

Alpenpässe Poster
The Alpine Passes Poster: Basic knowledge for your home - informative, decorative and analogue
For our tour “7 days | 6 countries | 50 passes” we need a clear planning basis. But that doesn’t exist.
So we build ourselves an Alpine passes map.
It’s amazing how many Alpine passes we discover that we don’t even know and yet are in the immediate vicinity of the known routes. The result is our Alpine passes poster - the idea: maybe someone else besides us would like this decorative planning overview.
We are now in the 5th edition, with different designs.
Alpen-Marathon Challenge Roadmap
The challenge for the Alpen-Marathon “7 days | 6 countries | 50 passes” is also available in book form - with the exclusive “Best Buddy” for every Alpine tourer
With the book - in a handy format (Din A5) - you won’t be spoilt for choice of individual tour days. The entire tour is described on 168 pages and illustrated with around 250 photos. There are also tour maps and GPS data available for download via QR code.
And it gets even better: depending on time, desire and mood, the tour starts in Carinthia and ends either in Monte Carlo or leads back to Germany, to the highest German Alpine pass.
There is also an exclusive Best Buddy, a key ring that every Alpine tourer needs.
The book comes in attractive packaging, making it the perfect gift. Of course, the book also comes with stickers, a certificate and, if desired, an entry in the "Hall of Fame".
Alpen-Marathon Challenge Roadmap PDF
Accept the Alpen-Marathon “7 days | 6 countries | 50 passes” as a challenge - tour documents (PDF) stickers, certificate and entry in the Hall of Fame are waiting for you
For each tour day of the Alpen-Marathon “7 days | 6 countries | 50 passes” there is a description with information about the Alpine passes, the Alpine pass sequence, tour maps and GPS data to download. So you can decide for yourself how you want to tackle the tour. Just one day at a time, or an extract, or the whole tour. At the pace you choose.
And this is how it works's: Select the tour documents you want, request them and, when you’re on the road, document every Alpine pass with a photo.
Very important: The tour days are not identical - because they are often requested - with the tour offered by Harry’s Bike Tours.
Alpenpässe
Alpine passes, Alpine routes, Alpine gravel roads: facts, info and videos from “A-Z”
We have now listed 450 Alpine passes, cul-de-sacs and gravel tracks, and the number is growing regularly. Because of course there are always new and unknown things to discover.
This information is either integrated into the interactive Alpine Passes Atlas for planning purposes, or can be called up as an overview from "A-z". The most important facts, descriptions and in many cases videos are available for all Alpine passes - and there are more and more of them. We’ve already filmed a lot, but haven’t had enough time to process the material into short clips.
Alpen Sehenswürdigkeiten
Places of interest (POls) in the Alps - in the interactive Alpine passes atlas or collected from “A-Z”
We want more than just motorcycling.
Inspired by the tips from the "local guides" for the TV reports, we collect further information on sights and tips.
Just stop, take a break, get to know a region better and take in the versatility of the Alps.
The POls are constantly being expanded - integrated for planning in the interactive Alpine passes atlas or as an overview from "A-Z".
Alpen Motohotels
Good moto-hotels that can be perfectly integrated into any tour
Due to our activities in the Alps, we have already seen several hotels and others have been recommended to us. We have also included these and integrated them into our digital Alpine passes atlas. In addition, there is an overview of the hotels by region, which are also displayed according to the Alpine passes visited. All hotels have a link to the hotel’s own websites and booking platforms.
Alpenpässe Atlas
The first digital, interactive Alpine pass atlas for creating Alpine tours
As a consequence of our work for the Alpine passes posters, and by popular demand, we have programmed this Alpine passes atlas.
Almost all of the known Alpine passes and shortcuts are integrated here. This allows you to put together a tour from Alpine pass to Alpine pass - you may discover new Alpine passes that you have not yet travelled and that have never been included in a tour before. We have also included all the start and end points of Alpine passes. To make an Alpine tour even more interesting, we have also added many sights - and of course selected hotels.
Put together your Alpine passes tour, add sights and hotels, send the tour to friends via a link and then download the GPS data ...
By the way: There are plenty of pictures, videos, facts and information about the Alpine passes and sights
Alpen-Marathon Hall-Of-Fame
Accept the challenge and enter the “Hall of Fame”
When the challenge has been ridden - whether one tour day or all - and we have received the matching pictures, there will be an entry in the “Hall of Fame”. On express request, of course. The tour stickers and the certificate are of course always available after the challenge has been completed
