For your Alpen-Marathon: The interactive Alpine passes atlas

updated on: 21.03.2025
Compile and share tours and download GPS data - the new interactive Alpen-Marathon “Alpine Passes Atlas” in 3D is online.
And this is how it works:
  • Click on Alpine pass for Alpine pass and/or hotel, town and POI and put together your route. The selected passes are listed (with picture, description and more...). Tip: You can change the position of the "maps" by "drag&drop".
  • Tip for 3D display: Click on the "compass" symbol in the top right-hand corner of the map and hold it down, then move the "mouse pointer" (alt.: right-click)
  • When the tour is finished, you can share the tour via a link (without registration). Click on the "Share tour info" button, copy the link and paste it into your e-mail. The tour is saved in the browser. You can always open the created tour via the link (tip: it is best to save the link or send it to yourself by e-mail)
  • If the tour is suitable, simply download the GPS data and load it into your sat nav.

Tip: There is information, facts and often videos for every Alpine pass, participating hotel and POI.
Here you can download the GPS data of the current tour as a GPX file. GPX files can be imported into many navigation devices and apps.

For more information on how to use GPX files, please refer to the user manual of your navigation device or navigation app.

INFO, TIPS AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT A GREAT PASSION: TOURING THE ALPS -
FROM ENTERTAINMENT TO TOUR PLANNING:

Alpenpässe Poster
The Alpine Passes Poster: Basic knowledge for your home - informative, decorative and analogue
For our tour “7 days | 6 countries | 50 passes” we need a clear planning basis. But that doesn’t exist.
So we build ourselves an Alpine passes map.
It’s amazing how many Alpine passes we discover that we don’t even know and yet are in the immediate vicinity of the known routes. The result is our Alpine passes poster - the idea: maybe someone else besides us would like this decorative planning overview.
We are now in the 5th edition, with different designs.
Alpen-Marathon Challenge Roadmap
The challenge for the Alpen-Marathon “7 days | 6 countries | 50 passes” is also available in book form - with the exclusive “Best Buddy” for every Alpine tourer
With the book - in a handy format (Din A5) - you won’t be spoilt for choice of individual tour days. The entire tour is described on 168 pages and illustrated with around 250 photos. There are also tour maps and GPS data available for download via QR code.
And it gets even better: depending on time, desire and mood, the tour starts in Carinthia and ends either in Monte Carlo or leads back to Germany, to the highest German Alpine pass.
There is also an exclusive Best Buddy, a key ring that every Alpine tourer needs.
The book comes in attractive packaging, making it the perfect gift. Of course, the book also comes with stickers, a certificate and, if desired, an entry in the "Hall of Fame".
Alpenpässe
Alpine passes, Alpine routes, Alpine gravel roads: facts, info and videos from “A-Z”
We have now listed 450 Alpine passes, cul-de-sacs and gravel tracks, and the number is growing regularly. Because of course there are always new and unknown things to discover.
This information is either integrated into the interactive Alpine Passes Atlas for planning purposes, or can be called up as an overview from "A-z". The most important facts, descriptions and in many cases videos are available for all Alpine passes - and there are more and more of them. We’ve already filmed a lot, but haven’t had enough time to process the material into short clips.
Alpen Sehenswürdigkeiten
Places of interest (POls) in the Alps - in the interactive Alpine passes atlas or collected from “A-Z”
We want more than just motorcycling.
Inspired by the tips from the "local guides" for the TV reports, we collect further information on sights and tips.
Just stop, take a break, get to know a region better and take in the versatility of the Alps.
The POls are constantly being expanded - integrated for planning in the interactive Alpine passes atlas or as an overview from "A-Z".
Alpen Motohotels
Good moto-hotels that can be perfectly integrated into any tour
Due to our activities in the Alps, we have already seen several hotels and others have been recommended to us. We have also included these and integrated them into our digital Alpine passes atlas. In addition, there is an overview of the hotels by region, which are also displayed according to the Alpine passes visited. All hotels have a link to the hotel’s own websites and booking platforms.
Alpen-Marathon TV-Reportagen
The Alpen-Marathon becomes a TV series:
Reports on tours in various regions of the Alps - on television and in media libraries.
We are often asked: "If you are so often out and about in the Alps and have film equipment with you, why don’t you also produce reports?" That’s exactly what we’re doing now! With the support of regional tourism associations, local guides and volunteer guest motorbike riders, we learn a lot about the country, its people, culture, history, sights, cuisine and Alpine routes. We then use this information to produce 30-minute TV programmes.
There are two outliers: a visit to the Massif Central in the departments of Ardeche and Lozere - here, too, It’s high up - and a detour to West Pomerania - where, fortunately, It’s flat, as the routes consist of sand, earth, gravel and sometimes tarmac.
